  • Wun Yan Chow

  • Coach

CrossFit Level 1

Wun started his fitness journey at a young age while he was on elementary school teams competing in volleyball and basketball. Towards the end of his university education in Engineering, he tried a number of at-home programs where he made some improvements to his fitness. It was not until after graduation when he found himself at West Markham Crossfit where his journey took off.

He began Crossfit in 2013 and has not looked back since. At the time, he was by no means the strongest nor the best mover, but he had the internal drive to improve often spending time on his own to address his weaknesses. Four years later, he is at a stage where he believes he can finally begin to start expressing himself through the various movements required of Crossfit athletes. However, he does not believe in being satisfied and constantly strives to improve.

Wun obtained his CF-L1 in June 2016 and has been coaching at Vaughan/Markham Strength and Conditioning since. His main focus is on movement and basic principles. It is not how much weight being moved that is his priority, but how well the weight is moved. With new athletes, he breaks down movements into progressions and provides reasoning allowing the athletes to understand the movement and how it applies to them. Only when an athlete moves well does Wun believe they can progress through their training without the need to worry about sustaining injuries.
